Course Content

This program is designed to provide training for all personnel required to safely
perform work at heights. The course and will provide an understanding of the
hazards and mitigation controls associated with working at height, equipment
requirements and inspection protocols as well as emergency response
procedures and rescue techniques.

Falls are a major cause of injury and death in Nova Scotia workplaces. A vast
majority of those are falls from height. Most of these accidents occur because
fall protection equipment and training was not in place. Nova Scotia employers
are required to train personnel to work safely at height. This program covers the
fundamentals of fall protection for employees working at height in Nova Scotia.
The course will provide an understanding of the hazards and mitigation controls
associated with working at height, equipment requirements and inspection
protocols as well as emergency response procedures and rescue techniques.

Training Duration and Timing: The course is delivered in 3 Lessons. Approximately 4 hours of practical training is required upon completion of online lessons.

Assessment Schedule: Following the course is a short 12 question Quiz.

Competency Requirement: A score of 80% or higher is required on the Quiz to pass. The Quiz can be re-taken if a score of 80% the or higher is not achieved.
